We've al been waiting for this: the first Joomla 1.6 download link. Note that this is an alpha version, so do not use this on a live site!

While Joomla 1.5 was a small revolution, Joomla 1.6 is an evolution. Some of the features have been redesigned (like the menu system), some feature have been added. For me, the most important new feature is ACL. This gives you the possibility to create new user groups and assign certain rights to them. This is a feature that Joomla was really lacking as it gives you a lot more flexibility to control what your users can and can not do.
